Dear Gerry,
I've been struggling to start off letters differently each time and I have yet to come up with an opening question, so you get this long explanation instead. I apologize. I'd ask how you are and how things are going, but I feel like I open with that every time and I don't want it to be the generic opening question because I actually care about how people are. Most people do think it's just a generic question and skim over it and I rarely get a truthful answer from people. I feel like there are some people you just know that question means something to them and then others just ask it out of habit and don't care about the answer. I challenge myself to genuinely mean it every time someone asks it. So I guess here it is...how are you?
I did just see you tonight at bible study, but I didn't get to ask that question of everyone so there ya go! I want to say thank you for everything you and Donna have provided for us. On behalf of the young adults at the church I can promise you that you have helped all of us out so much and we can't even begin to express our gratitude. I look forward to seeing you and Donna at church or bible study every week and see you two as parents to me. I tell all my friends and family back home not to worry because I have Newfoundland parents that keep my well :) It's true you guys have become family to me.
You are a fantastic father and have raised a beautiful family from the ones I've met. I hope that all goes well in your future and that I can continue to stay in contact with you and Donna even if I do end up in Toronto in the fall!
Love you.
Sincerely,
Yvette
