Dear Kate,
How's the other side of the country? That's definitely a new question. Not like I get to ask that one all the time...despite most of my friends and family living in Alberta, but that's not allllll the way across. You are the lucky candidate who gets that question. And now I'm obsessing about the question.
Sorry.
So what's going on? How's school treating you? Are you enjoying linguistics? I hope so! I sure do. I know that the intro courses are always super difficult to get through because they're so broad, but trust me it gets better. If I had to choose a subject to study off of the intro courses I took I'd probably just drop out of university. I hate them. But they will become awesome! And more difficult of course. Are you taking an languages? I'm sure you are...last I heard it was Spanish? Maybe? Or French?
Did you get into U of A? That'll be awesome for you I'm sure. I bet you'll be excited to be closer to your family! I know I'd be excited. But then again you have to live in Edmonton and that's kind of brutal, especially in the winter. I bet it was nice in Vancouver, or at least temperature wise. I know the cloudiness and rain sucks, trust me we get a ton of it here. But then we get snow too which is wonderful.
Have you been to NL before? If not I highly recommend it. It's wonderful. Have you made a lot of friends out there? I bet you'll miss the people there. Maybe the best way to leave is to make a bunch of enemies and then you'll be glad to leave! Right? What are you doing for the summer?
I really hope things are going swimmingly for you out there. You're like a younger sister to me really, I've done so much with you growing up and have known you forever! So yes I hope you succeed and are able to transfer successfully.
Love you.
Sincerely,
Yvette
